I'm pleased we published the website, www.esmithsleigh.com, on schedule and have the book, These Things are a One Thing, for sale on the purchase page. Wow. Good moment, great feeling. Please visit the website soon. I'll blog a lot more after I sleep a little.
l want to thank everyone for their dedication to the project and say welcome to our visitors. Be forewarned, there is an edge to what I write, I take on a lot of subject matter including our culture and society and politics; but, I also write about intimate events and thoughts. My subject matter is not necessarily autobiographical and neither are the opinions. My work is poetry in the moment, what I hear and observe, and it's not G-rated. If you're up for challenging words, and stimulating thoughts, and maybe a laugh or two. I invite you to read These Things are a One Thing. Note: the website is finished, but something about the domain name will take 48 hours to register, uhhhhhhh. I got some sleep anyway, but not enough. And, welcome 40 or so hours from now, hopefully. --e. smith sleigh |

Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie-- True Poems flee-- Emily Dickinson Post-Structuralism is a reaction to structuralism and works against seeing language as a stable, closed system. It is a shift from seeing the poem or novel as a closed entity, equipped with definite meanings which it is the critic's task to decipher, to seeing literature as irreducibly plural, an endless play of signifiers which can never be finally nailed down to a single center, essence, or meaning. --Jan Rybicki, 2003 All intellectual property on this
